The Team

KLATU maintains development teams in San Diego California, Portland Oregon and Delhi, India and sales/marketing resources based in Oregon and Connecticut. Its founder, Rick Kriss, is an industry veteran recognized in the wireless sensor community for his vision and experience --derived in part from over 400 commercial deployments worldwide. Mr. Kriss founded Xsilogy in 2000, one of the industry's first companies to focus exclusively on wireless sensor networks and is today operated as a business unit of a public company. Mr. Kriss has been an invited guest speaker at industry events, and he has been an active contributor in several industry standards organizations. He past co-chair of CommNexus' Semiconductor Special Interest Group for Wireless Communications in San Diego, and he has worked as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and member of the Architecture Working Group of the Life Sciences Information Technology Global Institute (LSIT). He has served as a member of Motorola's Research Visionary Board of Directors and in 2005 he was recognized for his achievements by Frost & Sullivan with an award for the Most Innovative Product of the Year.

Michael O'Toole serves as the company's VP of Business development with a focus on east-coast operations. Mr. O'Toole is past President of the EGS Electric Heat Cable division of Emerson Industrial Automation --a business unit of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) with worldwide revenues of $25 billion. His assignment at KLATU includes responsibility for KLATU's asset monitoring strategy and building relationships with key strategic partners.

Chris Exline serves as KLATU's Chief Software Architect and he is responsible for the overall design and implementation of all new software products developed at KLATU. Mr. Exline's technical background is centered around large-scale Linux software development projects involving military command and control systems with an emphasis on data mediation, data fusion and 3-D visualization of complex data sets from heterogeneous data sources. Mr. Exline also brings strong skills and experience to KLATU in the field of webs service integration.

Dan Simpson is KLATU's Lead Architect/Designer for Client Interface Technology.  He is credited with the design and development of KLATU's real-time web-based 3D user interface (patent pending), an innovation which dramatically enhances the user experience, and simplifies the visualization, analysis and interpretation of large sensor networks through the use of 3-D modeling.
