KLATU Networks announces the End of Life for the Gen2 mote platform. After 12 years of reliable service to the life sciences community, we're transitioning customers to our next-generation PiPerXS 4B platform with enhanced capabilities and AI-driven features.

KLATU's Gen2 mote platform has reached End of Life after 12 years of reliable service. We will discontinue Gen2 mote hardware support according to the schedule below.

While the Gen2 mote served you reliably for over a decade, it lacks the performance, Wi-Fi connectivity, security protocols, and AI capabilities now standard in modern monitoring platforms.

The PiPer 4 platform delivers these capabilities along with built-in support for TRAXX AI 2.0 predictive analytics.

End-of-Life Details

Gen2 Mote Support

   • End of Support Date: June 1, 2026.
   • After this date, KLATU will no longer provide technical support.

Gen2 Mote Extended Support Agreement Option

For hardship cases only, Extended Support Agreements are available for short periods.

Customers who need to continue using Gen2 motes beyond the June 1st End of Support deadline may purchase an annual Extended Support Contract. Pricing will be quoted on an individual basis.

Gen2 Mote Batteries

Final Gen2 mote battery orders must be placed by February 15, 2026. Contact us for a quote.

Upgrade Path: TRAXX PiPer Platform

KLATU offers a clear migration path to our next-generation PiPer 4 and PiPerXS 4B monitoring technology, including a trade-in promotion designed to make upgrading affordable.

Recommended Upgrade

   • TRAXX PiPer 4 platform featuring the newest motes: PiPer 4 and PiPerXS 4B
   • Upgrading provides significantly enhanced performance, reliability, and access to KLATU’s latest AI-driven features and applications.

Gen2 Mote Trade-In Promotion

   • For each Gen2 mote replaced, receive 25% off the standard price of PiPerXS 4B and SensorHub when purchased by March 1, 2026.
   • Your existing sensors (temperature, current transducer, and door switch) work directly with the new SensorHub. We'll credit your current TRAXX EKG software license toward the upgrade.
   • All Gen2 motes must be returned to KLATU.
